Tennessee Summer 2010

In July we took a trip to Tennessee to visit with Jeff's family. It was great to see Gram (Jeff's mom) is doing well in her new assisted living facility. We got to celebrate her 85th B-day with her! Jill made her a lap quilt, that she loved!
We went downtown Nashville with Jeff's sisters Holly and Heather and walked Broadway. Very nice area, loved all the little shops and bars you can go in and listen to some country music! It looked great considering the awful floods they got there just a few months before. Grand Ole Opry was still getting work done so we didn't get in there. We ate lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory...very good! It poured rain but we managed to stay dry by jumping on a bus and taking a tour of the city.
Jeff's great-nephews Christian and Noah were alot of fun. At 16 months and 2 1/2 years old, boy are they full of energy!
Makayla and Uncle Jeff enjoyed swimming in the pool. It was a nice visit and we all enjoyed spending time together!

San Diego Summer 2010

Jeff and Jill got to spend 5 days in San Diego thanks to Jeff's work conference. Jeff spent most of his days in the San Diego Convention Center, but we managed to do some sightseeing and enjoyed eating out! Jill esp liked this because she didn't have to cook! While we were walking around the Seaport Village area a lady caught a shark off the pier. Jill was happy when she threw it back in the water. We went out to Coranado Island and had dinner at Hotel Del Coronado. Jill just had to put her feet in the sand!
If you notice the sun is not shining in any of these pictures! Thats because we were there during June gloom! It happens that they have alot of cloud coverage for a week or two and no sunshine. :( The temp was actually in the 60's the whole time. Which was a relief from the 100's we were getting in TX before we left.
We rode up to La Jolla, just north of San Diego and got to see the seals. We loved it...but boy could you tell the seals were around, it smelt pretty bad. They were having a Jr. Lifeguard Training at the time and all these little kids are swimming out in the ocean, right next to the seals! Watching the seals just hanging out on the rocks and swimming in the ocean was very cool to see and the coastline was just beautiful! :) It was a nice get-away, even if the sun didn't shine for us!

Vegas...Summer 2010

Made a trip to Vegas to visit with Jeff/Butch, Danielle and Ozzie (their dog). It was great to spend time with them.
Bo got to go to a clinic at the Dental school with Butch early one Saturday morning...Bo is not a morning person! He got to dress up in scrubs and get a look at what his brother does on a daily basis.
We spent some of our time in their awesome pool and snuggling up with Ozzie while watching the World Cup!
Bo Celebrated his 16th B-day there and got to Skype with Becky in Afghanistan! It was great to see her and catch up. She is doing good and was looking forward to her 2 weeks of R&R coming up the end of July since she was heading to Germany to visit some friends.
For his B-day all Bo wanted was a tattoo. It's a 3rd generation tattoo. His grandfather and father both have a tiger so he really wanted one. Needless to say he got it!
That chocolate cake was delicious...thanks Danielle! :) Spent time in the Jacuzzi while watching the fireworks overhead that the neighbors were setting off. Pretty fun 4th!
We went down to the Strip one day and walked around...boy was it HOT!
Jeff and I got to meet up with our friend Rick and his wife Stephanie!
It was a great trip!
